Every piece of news published on ElectionMandi.com goes through a fact-checking process. We do not publish fake news, rumored, or manipulated content. During elections, the spread of misinformation is highest, so our verification process is stricter.
2. Our Fact-Checking Process
- Source Verification: We verify from Primary Sources – ECI press releases, official gazette, candidate affidavits (ADR reports), and official press conferences.
- Cross-Checking: We cross-check information with at least two reputed and independent sources like PTI, ANI, Times of India, The Hindu, Dainik Jagran or ECI website.
- Visual Verification: For viral images/videos related to elections, we use Google Reverse Image Search, InVID tool, and official party handles to verify authenticity.
- Consulting Experts: For legal/electoral matters, we consult psephologists and legal experts.
3. What We Fact-Check
Viral claims about EVM hacking, Voter List deletion, Fake candidate lists, Morphed videos of leaders, Fake ECI circulars, and misleading election dates.
4. Correction and Rating
If a claim is found to be false after publishing, we update the article and label it clearly:
Rating Scale: True, False, Misleading, Altered Media, Missing Context
Example: “Fact-Check: This viral letter claiming postponement of Chhattisgarh elections is FALSE. ECI has issued no such notification.”
